Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025

 The 2025 Women's Premier League (WPL) has ushered in a new era for women's cricket in India, showcasing remarkable talent and competitive spirit. This third edition of the WPL, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is being held from February 14 to March 15, 2025.  


                           **Participating Teams:**


The tournament features five franchises:

- **Delhi Capitals**
- **Gujarat Giants**
- **Mumbai Indians**
- **Royal Challengers Bengaluru** (defending champions)
- **UP Warriorz**

**Tournament Format:**

Each team competes in a double round-robin format, playing against every other team twice. The top three teams based on points will advance to the playoffs. The team finishing first secures direct entry to the final, while the second and third-placed teams face off in an Eliminator match to determine the other finalist. 

**Venues:**

Matches are being hosted across four venues:

- **M. Chinnaswamy Stadium**, Bengaluru
- **Ekana Cricket Stadium**, Lucknow
- **Brabourne Stadium**, Mumbai
- **Kotambi Stadium**, Vadodara

**Player Auctions and Squad Enhancements:**

The 2025 player auction saw 19 players signed, including five international stars. Notably, uncapped talent Simran Shaikh was acquired by Gujarat Giants for ₹19 million, reflecting the league's commitment to nurturing emerging players.

  - *Ellyse Perry* (Royal Challengers Bengaluru): 295 runs, highest score of 90*
  - *Nat Sciver-Brunt* (Mumbai Indians): 272 runs, highest score of 80*
  - *Shafali Verma* (Delhi Capitals): 260 runs, highest score of 80*

- **Leading Wicket-Takers:**
  - *Renuka Singh Thakur* (Royal Challengers Bengaluru): 10 wickets, best figures of 3/23
  - *Kashvee Gautam* (Gujarat Giants): 9 wickets, best figures of 3/11
  - *Jess Jonassen* (Delhi Capitals): 9 wickets, best figures of 4/31
